This automatic movement is known for its outstanding precision and reliability, offers a power reserve of 70 hours and uses the innovative Chronergy escapement and the Parachrom hairspring, which is resistant to magnetic fields. The predecessor of this model, reference number 214270, was equipped with the caliber 3132, which is also known for its accuracy and resistance.

The current Rolex Explorer II, reference number 226570, which has been in production since 2021, is equipped with the caliber 3285. This automatic movement offers a power reserve of 70 hours and is equipped with the Chronergy escapement and Parachrom hairspring, which is resistant to magnetic fields. The predecessor of this model, reference number 216570, was equipped with the caliber 3187. An earlier version, reference number 16570 with the caliber 3186, already set standards in terms of precision and reliability.
